There are a lot of things that I think I need to relieve stress in my life.
Like more time.
Or an assistant.
Or a different job.
Or a raise.
Or students that don’t frustrate the heck out of me.
Or a nap.
Or three extra planning periods.
Or warm weather.
I think about it all of the time.
I start to think about all of the things that stress me out so much that I forget to look at what I do have; God.
The times that I get stressed out are usually the times that I drift away from Him.
They’re the times that I don’t read my Bible as much as I should.
They’re the times where my mind and heart are not fully in my prayers and I’m thinking of so many other things that I need to get done.
They’re the times that I just want to yell at myself and scream.
It might just be me.
But it might not.
Maybe you’ve felt the same way.
Maybe you’ve thought the same thoughts.
Maybe you’ve yelled the same yells and punched the same walls.
Stop.
Stop everything you’re doing.
Look at God.
Lock yourself in a room.
Dive deep into His word.
And pray.
He is our peace.
He is our comfort.
He is our joy.
He is our God.
